DSW Flight Recliner

We had a beautiful Ethan Allen buttery soft leather recliner in our den when we lived in the Midwest. We left it - and everything else - behind when we moved to DC. But we needed a recliner on a smaller scale for our tiny condo. So we searched all over and ended up with a very expensive DSW flight recliner. Unfortunately we had it made in fabric since it was coordinated with a leather sofa. Now it sits in the other unit next to a fabric couch. Eleven years later, the fabric on the chair is starting to show its' wear. So we decided to go to an upholstery shop a couple of weeks ago and see if it would be worth getting it recovered in leather, since the chair itself has a lifetime warranty. We went to E C Robinson upholstery in Alexandria. Two hides of leather cost $700 each; plus labor was another $600. The total damage was over $2000! We immediately decided that wouldn't do, and thought when the time comes we may just buy a new chair. We thought about it again today and figured we may just have it recovered in cloth. It may end up costing as much as a new chair, but this flight recliner is worth keeping.
