Observations, pictures, and sketches highlight the transition of moving to the nations's Capitol after 30 years of living in the Midwest. A clash in cultures? Maybe not!

Potomac Farm Market
We have a really nice little patio garden and have been quite successful this summer harvesting cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, and petite eggplant. Unfortunately, not all the fruit and vegetables we like can be grown there. After having a really nice lunch at Cafe Deluxe in Tyson's this afternoon, we stopped at the Potomac Farm Market along the Dolley Madison Highway. There was a great selection of corn, and watermelon. My husband can't stand the furry feel of a peach, so I picked out a few along with some nectarines. While we were there, there was a constant stream of visitors. Everyone loves fresh fruit and vegetables. Too bad the season doesn't last as long as we would like, but it certainly beats the short Wisconsin summer. And that's probably the biggest reason we moved here.
