52frames Shoot From Above Photo Challenge

The US Botanic garden is not only a great place to visit, it’s been used several times as the subject for the weekly photo challenge. This week subject was “shoot from above” so I thought the catwalk above the main garden jungle area could be an option. We started out our morning walk by parking in our old Capitol Hill neighborhood. It was in the nineties and very uncomfortable! We first walked by the Library of Congress but the light wasn’t right for Neptune fountain from above. Then we walked by the heavily policed Capitol east front where the hearings were taking place and down towards the national gallery of art. Unfortunately the east building was closed for renovation so we headed to the west building. The air conditioning was great but there were no good photo ops. I wanted to go to the Hirshhorn, but it was just dreadful walking. So we finally made our way to the gardens and indoors. There were some nice shots from above with one in particular of a couple. In the end I used an unexpected decent image of my husband and I walking across the bridge in the neighborhood park. The lighting and texture just seemed right. I’m sure it’s not an overall “winner” but the idea for this activity is to get us out of the house. It did and the results were pretty good.
