52Frames Redo Photo Challenge

The subject for the 52Frames weekly photo challenge this week was “redo” - a fitting end for the year. The idea was to select a challenge subject from any week during the year and redo the actual shot, or come up with another idea for the same subject. Perhaps you got a new camera or the season was different - whatever got your attention and you want another shot at it. Since one of my images was selected as a 52Frames favorite I wanted to try and replicate it, but in another setting. The subject was “silhouette.” The original black and white photo was taken of my husband in the National Gallery of Art walking down the stairs. It looked a bit creepy. This time we drove to Old Town Alexandria to the Wilkes Street Tunnel. On one end of the tunnel you can see the historic brick homes and what is the remainder of fall color; on the other end is a street. The vibe always becomes enhanced when someone is either walking or running through the 1800’s structure. This time someone was running towards us from the distance and I knew when he passed by us I would turn around and he would be in my frame - right before he reached the sunlight. This image was my husband’s favorite. And as always I liked a couple from the National gallery and a couple of others we took in DC. So another year of weekly photo challenges ended. It’s hard to believe. Some of the subjects are more interesting than others. But for us the main goal is to get out or the house. And that’s the best challenge.
