Observations, pictures, and sketches highlight the transition of moving to the nations's Capitol after 30 years of living in the Midwest. A clash in cultures? Maybe not!

Every summer, there is a batch of new interns that descend upon the capitol city, and the many federal building services. We generally get a few in our office, but the more "official" ones arrive in the Congressional Research Service (CRS) and other strategic placements geared for impressive resumes. One of the Congressional intern/page buildings is just down the street from us, and I understand that there are even sleeping quarters in the main Library of Congress Jefferson Building for the pages, where they also attend class. In health care, all the new residents and interns started in July, and everyone was warned to keep their distance, and to avoid getting sick during those months. I wonder if that general concept applies here as well?
