52Frames Black and White Photo Challenge

I am not a fan of black and white photos, and I don’t particularly like taking them either. So when the 52Frames photo challenge this week was black and white I was not thrilled about it. The weather last week was dreadful too, except for the one reasonably sunny day early in the week when we headed out to the National Mall to see what we could find. We first stopped along the Potomac River across from the Lincoln Memorial. Then we passed by the Washington Monument, down Independence Avenue, and parked by the American Indian Museum. We walked up to the Capitol after passing through the US Botanic Garden. I must have thousands of photos of the capitol and added several more. Then we walked on towards the Supreme Court crossing over the west lawn. After that we walked over to the rear of the Supreme Court and down second street. There were some great street scenes along the way. Then we circled back through our old neighborhood and the house office buildings and the US Botanic Garden again. Before the meter ran out we walked around the American Indian Museum where there were some photo options along the way back to the car. Later in the week we drove to Vienna VA and stopped behind an old furniture shop. I really liked the outcome but thought the “sculpture” might be a bit offensive. So I ended up selecting the steps to the Capitol visitor center because of the clean lines and shadows. It’s not an outstanding photo but it’s an excuse to get out of the house.
