52Frames Chair Photo Challenge

We haven’t been to the Navy Yard/Yards Park for quite some time. So when the weekly photo challenge subject called for “chair” we thought it might be a good place to find something interesting. So we parked in our old Capitol Hill neighborhood and walked over. There certainly were a lot of options. There was a dedicated park bench with trash cans surrounding it. We passed through the park near the ice skating rink that had neon colored chairs and tables. Down by the Anacostia Riverwalk many more varieties of chairs stood out from stone to sloped elongations. Inside a restaurant they were piled high. They were in tandem beneath the foot bridge. My husband was the perfect subject and added a bit of composition to a lot of the images. The Frederick Douglass Bridge was a great backdrop in many of the photos. Looking up at the apartments one could see several types of chairs on the balconies. The photo we selected this week was chosen because of the dreamy watery feeling we got from the mural hanging behind the two Adirondack chairs. The entire area was so quiet near nationals Stadium. During the baseball season this place is packed. It’s still winter but looking at the mural made it feel like spring. Each week has a different subject and I like some more than others. It’s probably not the most creative entry, but sometimes that’s just how it goes.
