The Hirshhorn Sculpture Garden

We pass by this way all the time. At the end of summer it feels like we are having an exclusive visit - all the tourists are gone and it is a very quiet time. Each season brings a different vibe at the Hirshhorn Sculpture Garden. The leaves seem to be changing a bit prematurely, but the effect is stunning against the large artworks. I've never been a huge sculpture fan, but some of these pieces are quite whimsical and have character compared to the large orange beams that are also considered art. It never ceases to amaze me that we only have to walk a couple blocks to get to this destination. Most people travel from all over the world to get here. That is impressive, but living in this town has it's own set of difficulties. It all sounds and even looks good - especially when we are in places like this.
