An Old Town Alexandria Visit

We never get tired of it. We always like taking a ride to Old Town Alexandria. When we first moved to DC fifteen years ago, we went to Old Town regularly for lunch. Before that, Old Town was a vacation spot. One of my college friends and her husband moved there for a few years for his job so that made it even more inviting. Now we go to Old Town from our Northern Virginian home for morning walks and for opportunities to take photos for the weekly 52frames challenge. Last week we went in search for some ideas on black and white minimalism. I really didn’t care for any of the photos, but the walk along the Potomac river is always interesting. There were a lot of ducks and pigeons hanging around where the boats are normally moored. We usually see the pigeons hanging around the ducks by the water. But this time they were all huddled together on top of a hut like structure. They were as interested in me as I was of them. But as the seasons change the number of boats decreases, and the number of people milling about also declines. It’s that time of the year, but with a pandemic still over our heads the tourist industry was impacted. I don’t mind not having to maneuver around the crowds. It was a really nice walk that day. I’m so glad we are still able to visit the places we really liked - even just for a morning walk.
