Anglophiles at Heart

My husband still says he would love to live in England. Of course it would be London. We both have a high regard for everything British - especially when it comes to watching programs on television. For me, it started with Masterpiece Theater back in the 1970’s and The Six Wives of Henry the Eighth. Then it was all of the Jane Austen novels. And of course American History which includes a lot to British interactions! My husband just loves England. We had an opportunity to visit at least three times in the last ten years because his medical school classmate lives in Buckinghamshire. We also met up with friends from here and did the Downton Abby visit along with Oxford and other notable places. So we always try to find programs representing English and oftentimes Irish or Scottish stories. That’s why we have BritBix and Accorn TV apps and are constantly searching for all other available titles on Prime, Netflix and HBO. And of course most of the shows on Masterpiece. The actors have become our friends now and we recognize them in so many shows. Since our evening hours have not really changed since the pandemic it’s our favorite time of the day. Would we ever really live in England? Probably not. But I’ll let him dream about it.
