52Frames Focal Point

This week’s photo challenge was “focal point.”  It started off with a red pedestrian bridge against the green trees. Then it progressed to a prickly blue flower with leading “vines.”  When we took a walk along the Tidal basin last week there were a lot of great options - the stormy clouds with the Washington Monument, the depression era radio listener at the FDR Memorial, or the sad looking cherry tree. While cruising past the MLK Memorial we noticed someone with a photographer. When we got closer we saw Miss District of Columbia USA. I asked her if she minded if I took her photo. She was very sweet with an infectious smile. My husband really liked the prickly flower the most this week, but I preferred Miss DC. It was a quirky option. So I looked her up on google and found out her name and a little more about her. Her crown was in competition with the Jefferson Memorial but Faith was definitely the focal point in this photo.
