Polder Shopping Cart from Bed, Bath and Beyond

We lived on the first floor at our Capitol Hill condo. Being on the first floor had a lot of advantages, but there were also a lot of disadvantages. It felt like you were living in a house facing the street and all the activity. But with that were many annoyances. We really liked not having to depend on an elevator. But we didn’t have parking which meant carrying things a distance if the driveway was cluttered with vehicles blocking the path. So sometimes it took a few trips to unload things. We just moved to a condo in Virginia on the fourth floor. So now we have to use the elevator. But we also have a parking space. Because of that we needed to get a grocery cart that we could use to bring larger loads of items to the elevator and up to our unit. So we went to Bed, Bath and Beyond and got a Polder aluminum light weight cart that can hold up to thirty pounds. I also had a 20% discount for it. Because it would be used indoors only, I thought being light was important. We tried it out the other day and it worked okay, but it feels flimsy. We also have a very old luggage carrier that we use for single large item boxes that still works really well after all these years. So between the two of them it makes it a lot easier to haul things from point A to point B. We keep them both in the trunk of the car and bring them back down the next time we go out. What’s nice is that the elevator is right across the hall from our unit so we don’t need to haul anything down the corridor - unless of course the elevator is scheduled for use for several hours - or it’s out of service. Hopefully that won’t happen with a great frequency. At least there are three other elevators in the building.
