Harris Teeter Trip

With guests arriving from out of town this afternoon, we decided we needed to make a Harris Teeter run to McLean. It's senior day, the "deals" are usually greater, and the prices in Virginia are so much lower than in DC. Along with the usual tid bits for snacking, we always get a seasonal flower assortment to display in the wall vase. But this evening we are also having a small get together after a John Coltrane Library of Congress program. That meant we needed additional finger foods for a light later night treat. Of course, I also had to get a table decoration - a few small gourds and such. Now we are running behind a bit, but I'm sure everything will work out fine. My husband usually handles the food prep, while I try to add a bit of whimsy to the mix. You can tell it's Fall by the colors of the trees outside, but the temps are in the 70's! That will also be changing by tomorrow, just in time for some interesting "tourist" days ahead.
