52Frames Emotion Weekly Photo Challenge

When I thought of capturing an image that showed emotion, I thought of the national gallery of art. We hadn’t been there for quite a while. So we took a drive in to town, and parked on the national mall after driving around for quite a awhile. The cherry blossom visitors are making for a more crowded place. I rather liked having the city to myself! The tulips were absolutely beautiful in front of the Smithsonian castle. Unfortunately the magnolias did not survive the harsh snow and freezing temps. Everything around us was getting more congested as we made our way to the gallery. Once inside, there were many venue options to choose from. There were families wandering about - including a father/daughter team with long lens cameras; some very bored kids and a cute couple sitting on the gallery sofas in front of masterpieces; two younger kids that were really interested in what they were seeing; several groupings in front of Napoleon - which is an emotion in an of itself. After we walked through the sculpture section we wandered about the national mall for a bit and ended up in our favorite spot - the US Botanic Garden. After all the time we spent trying to find something in the galleries, I ended up selecting an image of a pair of mallards who seem to always find the lovely pond hidden in the gardens there. There was just something cute about the love ducks and they were perfectly in sync. I don’t think that really was the essence of  “enotion,” but I liked the idea of it all.
