An Interesting Young Lady at the National Gallery of Art

We oftentimes visit the National Mall. It’s usually for a morning walk. If we see something interesting we investigate it. We lived on Capitol Hill for thirteen years so we are very familiar with the area. The biggest difference now is that we need to pay for parking instead of having a parking permit. So when we went to the National Gallery of Art we were intrigued by a young girl who seemed to be very enamored with the surroundings. First we explored the first floor where most of my favorite Monet paintings are housed and found a father daughter photography team in action. While there I was also trying to capture images for the 52 frames weekly photo challenge. From there we went to the sculpture area on the floor below. That is where we started to observe the young lady in the pink top with her mother floating around the gallery talking to herself and making exclamatory comments. It was a sight to see and so very interesting. Her looking at the Degas ballerina was lovely, along with all the other gesturing and photo snaps she was taking. After a bit she and her mother met up with her father and younger brother. My husband thought she was speaking French. Unfortunately none of my images turned out as well as I would have liked. But it was a blissful experience. It turns out I had already snapped a photo of the entire family at the main fountain level long before we actually saw her on the lower level. That’s sort of ironic indeed.
