Chinese Fortune Cookies

After a couple of months, we finally started to have food delivered for dinner from our favorite neighborhood  restaurants. We started with Moby Dick and Persian food. It was always good and remains so. Then it was Greek; then Italian; then Persian again. In between we have made chicken fajitas with margaritas and the whole nine yards. I was really looking forward to Chinese. Yesterday we got shrimp fried rice, fried spicy chicken, wonton soup, egg and vegetable rolls, crab Rangoon, and green tea with fortune cookies. After dinner we had the tea and cookies. My husband’s fortune was right up his alley - “a merry heart makes a cheerful countenance.” He’s always so upbeat even in the worst of times. Mine, on the other hand, was nothing like me - “the night life is for you.” I was never in to the nightlife - except for the fact that I do like to stay up late at night. So technically speaking it is somewhat accurate depending on your take. I do have to say that overall neither one of us is thrilled with take out or delivery. It was never the food that made dining out what it was. It was the experience that made the difference - the ride, the dinner, the wine, the friends, the leftovers. Now it just feels like leftovers and a real hassle to unpack everything to avoid cooties. I’m not sure how much more of this we will do. Our own cooking tastes so much better. It’s kinda sad.
