Westminster Borzoi

Before we settled on a Borzoi for our family pet, we went to several dog shows to actually see the animals. I also read a lot about the breed in general. At the shows, we were able to interact with these lovely creatures. Most often they would just be lying around, or leaning against you, and not making any noise. It was at one show that we met our breeder, and we eventually got our Tatiana all those years ago. We have gone to a few dog shows in Virginia just to refresh our memories and we head straight to the Borzois and talk to the handlers. Aside from that, we try to watch the Westminster dog show which happens to be on this weekend. I taped the best in breed and waded through the segments. The borzoi were not highlighted, but they did show the winner. Today will be the best in class and best in show. The hound group rarely wins, but a borzoi came in either first or second a couple of years ago. No other dog can possibly meet our idea of the best - but I’m sure that’s what everyone says about their favorite. I really miss having a dog - especially that one.
