Dyson Pure Humidify + Cool Machine

My husband has allergies but we don’t know from what. The house gets really dry in the winter. We don’t have an Aprilair device on our HVAC. Put all that together, and we decided to try the Dyson Humidifier, fan, and air purifier device. We really like Dyson products - sort of like Apple products. We already own the vacuum cleaner, fan, and recently a floor light fixture. So after a lot of research, we ordered a unit last week. Because we already own Dyson products we get the customer discount by buying it directly through Dyson. We were using a cheap small table top humidifier, but it needed to be cleaned all the time, filled all the time, and left white residue on everything - not good for the lungs. We had a really nice air purifier in our DC condo, but left it there when we moved - thinking we wouldn’t need it. Since the pandemic, anything that keeps the air even fresher in the house is worth it. The unit arrived yesterday and I love it because it’s a gadget that is run both manually with a remote or by using the Dyson app. The machine was very easy to set up, has a large water reservoir, was synced using WiFi. I put it in the corner of the dining room. It is also synced with the outside conditions of the city we live in, and shows the values for air quality, humidity, and pollen as well as particulate matter data. I’ve always loved gadgets and such so this is another one to learn about. It also has a self cleaner and filters that need to be switched out when required. Unfortunately Virginia has hard water so the machine will require more frequent cleaning. Everything you need to know about is on the app. I’ve left the settings on auto and this morning it was humming to increase the humidity and the water level was one half depleted - so I know it’s working. I’m just hoping it helps with any allergy mitigation but have my doubts. It’s a large piece of equipment but it is sleek and blends in. Now I need to learn more about all of it’s functions.
