Alexandria & The Doggie in the Window

Alexandria is the next best city after Washington, DC. Probably because it is so close and just over the bridge, and because of the beautiful architecture and gardens. We typically park just off King Street, and stroll to our destination. Along St. Asaph Street are a few places that have magnificent flower boxes. They remind me of the flower boxes we had beneath most of the windows at our house in Milwaukee. Our house also happened to be red brick with white trim- another reason we like Alexandria? But every time we pass this way, there are usually a couple little faces that peer from behind the glass door of an antique shop. They look like toy lambs, never bark, and seem so cuddly. Our beautiful borzoi used to enjoy sitting in front of our glass door looking in to the distance. Hmmmm......

The north side survived the heat wave
