Total Wine Store

We have three grocery stores in the immediate area- by that I mean about 15-20 blocks away. Two of them are "okay" and another is really nice. However, all of them have pretty hefty prices for both wine and cheese. The wine selection is not as good either. My husband heard about the Total Wine Store on the radio, as he was walking one morning. The store is located in McLean, Virginia right off Dolly Madison Parkway. We usually end up buying a dozen or so bottles of wine that last quite awhile. But the real reason is to get the cheese, which is half the price it costs in the grocery store. Boursin and Alluette are the ones we are after, and it is well worth the trip. The selection of cheese is minimal, but they have the brands we like. A friend of ours goes to Costco, and sometimes brings us a huge chunk of Petit Basque. I'm sure there are real deals for both wine and cheese there too, but we don't go to Costco- but we are really glad she does. So, it's a nice drive, and a good price - something that is getting harder and harder to come by these days.
Rows and rows of wine & our favorite cheese
