Don't Play With Your Food

We've had a good vegetable crop this season. On most evenings before dinner we are treated to a little homegrown crudités platter. That's one of the few French words I remember. At first, the sliced hor d'oeuvres were randomly placed on the white plate and lightly salted. But that changed when it started to look like art. So we reached for the fresh picked basil and chives to create a more interesting image and taste. Then we topped that off with our favorite glass of wine. After coming home from work it's quite the treat. That just goes to show you that a huge garden like the one we had in Wisconsin isn't required to reap the same benefits of a small patio garden.
