Union Station Drop Off

We've picked up out of town guests, walked over to visit Christmas decorations, ate at restaurants, exchanged money for overseas trips, and actually took the train to Virginia from Union Station. But this time we dropped a friend off so she could do some errands. There is usually a line of vehicles and typically people don't pay attention to the signs and do what they want. It's nothing like an airport where security staff are in constant watch over the goings on and keeping the action in check. People are waiting in line for cabs, buying tickets for sightseeing expeditions, and loading and unloading luggage - always in the no stopping lane. One vehicle belonged to a diplomat. I guess that means rules don't need to be followed, or maybe it is a license not to.
