US Botanic gardens

It’s our favorite place, but I wasn’t planning on going there on this trip in to town. The 52frames photo challenge for the week was “line from a song.” I was stuck on “looking for space” by John Denver and wanted to get a photo of Neil Armstrong’s space suit at the just reopened air and space museum. I should have known better than to think we would get in without waiting in line. The line was absolutely ridiculous - wrapping around the building and spilling long past the next block. There was always a line to get in to this favorite Smithsonian. I was a bit disappointed so we kept in walking towards the gardens. The First Ladies garden just reopened too so we started there. The gardeners were very welcoming but I don’t understand why the building remains closed. So we strolled around the place like in the old days. We passed through here almost every day on our morning walks when we lived on Capitol Hill. It’s such a pleasant place with the fountain and vegetable gardens. I did find another photo for the challenge of a butterfly bench and a song by Mariah Carey, but in the end went with Steppenwolf’s magic carpet ride. That’s another story.
