Awoke Stainless Steel Sink Protector

We have a large stainless steel kitchen sink. It’s lovely but it’s very scratched up too - even though we use a stainless steel protector on the bottom. The problem with that rack on the bottom is that it tends to attract mold because the sink is always wet. My husband gets pretty disgusted trying to clean it and it rarely does much good. And it’s too large to fit in the dishwasher. He even puts the rack on the balcony in the hot sun hoping it might kill the mold. So I started looking - again - for a substitute. I found Awoke sink protector that had all of the characteristics we were looking for. It’s a silicone mat that can fit in the dishwasher because it is flexible. It also has a hole large enough to fit around the garbage disposal and has tiny legs that keep it elevated above the floor on the sink. It’s been about two weeks since we got the new mat. You no longer hear all of the noise of dishes and pans rattling against the stainless steel rack. It doesn’t slip away and seems to be working well. The next test will be to see how it does in the dishwasher.  It’s hasn’t been long enough to attract mold. The design actually looks fine in the sink too. So if this mat does the trick it will be be worth it. Then we will put the stainless steel rack away in the event we will ever need it again.
