A Boring Walk in the Parking Garage

Lately we haven’t been able to do even the few things we still can - like taking a walk in the park or in town. The weather has been so foul that we don’t want to risk falling on the ice. It used to be we would drive to the mall and walk there. But with the pandemic we don’t go anywhere inside except for grocery shopping. Just when we thought things were getting better they got worse again. And northern Virginia Covid numbers keep going up. So rather than do nothing and go crazy staying indoors we at least walk a while in the parking garage. It is terribly boring and even slightly depressing. The views are nonexistent. You just walk through, around, up and down the two ramps, and start all over again. Someone asked us the other day how many times around does it takes to make a mile. The heart app says about seven times. We rarely make it to two miles for lack of enjoyment. When you are outside it’s such a nice feeling to just be out and about. The only thing we still do is take a short ride after the walk to maintain our sanity and see what life looks like outside of our building. I always disliked the winter months. Now I dislike them even more.
