Small Ruggables Kitchen Rug

My husband is more of a minimalist. I am too - to a point. We are used to having a small rug in front of the kitchen sink because we prefer to see the floor more than the rug. In our new kitchen, we continued to use the small Persian carpet that we brought along with us when we moved from the Midwest fifteen years ago. Our kitchen now could actually support a runner, but my husband didn’t want something that large. I’ve been seeing and hearing a lot about Ruggables and wanted to give one a try by putting it in front of the kitchen sink. Our small Persian carpet would be moved to the front of the coat closet in the foyer. We ordered a very neutral color that we hoped would blend in to the floor. When it arrived yesterday it was a bit more blue than tan. But that would be okay since the living room rug is blue and the kitchen backsplash is a grey blue. I liked the idea of being able to wash it if it gets soiled. So I set it up yesterday using the two piece system of a rubber backed lining that goes in first, and then attaching the upper layer on to the backing. It does look okay - although my husband prefers the old rug. It usually takes him a while to adjust to anything new. If in the end he doesn’t like it we can always use it in the bathroom. But that’s not really where it was intended to be. Time will tell.
